What exactly is MagScapes?

MagScapes is the world's first magnet-receptive printable media. Created to work with regular fridge magnetic substrate to provide a 'canvas' for large scale magnetic interaction.

How is it used?

The patented material is a lightweight printable vinyl that remains receptive to magnets and may be used on any vertical surface as wallcovering, wall posters or for stretched canvas. It's special quality allows magnetic motifs to be placed anywhere on its surface for ongoing interactive purposes.

Is MagScapes safe?

MagScapes vinyl and magnetic substrates are completely safe - they will not harm children, pets, computers or pacemakers. They do not contain; lead, dangerous chemicals, pthalates, solvents, thinners or wetting agents. MagScapes vinyl and magnets have both been tested to meet the strict European health and safety standards EN71.

Important Note: All MagScapes magnets are low power, and can not be ingested, either by breathing or swallowing.

How does it work?

MagScapes vinyl has ferrous material embedded within the layers which makes it receptive to magnets, just like a fridge door, it cannot harm computers or pacemakers. A wall covered with MagScapes is like being in a room that has a steel cabinet or fridge door.

The magnetic motifs have a base substrate made from standard sheet magnet used to create fridge magnets. It is rubber sheet that contains millions of microscopic iron particles that have been magnetized by an electro-magnetic field. Once magnetized, these iron particles hold their magnetic charge permanently. The magnetic material when cut to size and shape will hold its own weight on a vertical MagScapes product securely.

Where would I use MagScapes?

Within any interior area at home or at work - but especially where space is at a premium for example:

• At work, it is used in boardrooms, reception areas and in all public facing areas.
• At home, it is ideal for busy areas that need to be kept clear like: hallways, living areas, kids bedrooms even kitchens.

How do I hang MagScapes wallcovering?

It hangs in exactly the same way as any high-quality wallpaper. Use ready-mixed paste and follow the decorators guide (click here for hanging instructions)

Do MagScapes need special care?

The paper and motifs require no special care, simply keep clean using damp cloth. If using in areas of bright sunlight, regularly move motifs to avoid long-term discolouring of paper.

Can I use any fridge magnets on MagScapes base?

No. MagScapes motifs are specially designed to work with MagScapes wallpaper. Although most fridge magnets will also work on MagScapes base we cannot guarantee their suitability.

Can I apply MagScapes to my ceiling?

No. MagScapes wallcovering and magnetic motifs are designed solely for vertical walls. Only custom paper and magnet applications will be guaranteed to work on ceilings.

How does the MagScapes custom service work?
